The Martyrs' Shrine in Midland Ontario is a vast 75 acre landscape that initially commemorated a fatal clash of cultures some three and half centuries ago. Today the garden commemorates people from many different cultures that come to celebrate their common faith and spirituality. Over the years, different cultural groups have come together to build their own shrines. Now, the garden is an important site to catholic pilgrimages for many people from all over the world. Grahame gets a personal tour from the Maintenance Manager who is in charge of making sure over 10,000 plants are planted every year for the garden’s tens of thousands of visitors.
