Gluco-Balance Tea

When continuous blood sugar spikes set the adrenals off, the glands begin to tire. Then adrenal fatigue sets in, and the adrenals will respond more slowly. This tonic is designed to help keep blood sugar at a healthy level, and to help avoid the blood glucose ups and downs associated with adrenal challenges.

When blood sugar is too low it creates stress for the adrenal glands. Trying to eat small but frequent meals to sustain sugar and energy levels, and eating your first meal by 10 a.m. may help. Eating close to the same time every day supports steady cortisol levels. Follow a healthy, whole foods diet with minimal sugar and adequate protein, and avoid intense fasting or detox regimens that can further strain the adrenals.

Cinnamon: Studies show that the daily supplementation of as little as 1 gram of cinnamon can reduce blood sugar, triglycerides, and LDL (bad) cholesterol in type 2 diabetes patients.

Guggul extract is the resin from the mukhul tree. For over 1000 years, this extract has been used in Ayurveda to reduce blood sugar. Because guggul may lower blood sugar levels, consult a health care professional if you are using blood-sugar lowering medications. In studies, guggul was able to lower fasting blood sugar, blood pressure, and insulin levels. It also reduces the levels of C-reactive protein, thereby inhibiting inflammatory response.

Bitter Melon is said to be the bitterest tasting of all vegetables. Traditionally, bitter melon was used to fight infection, diabetes, and psoriasis. A member of the gourd family, this herb is also said to help control blood sugar and contains some anti-fungal properties. Over 32 active constituents have been identified in bitter melon, such as vitamin C, vitamins B1 and B3, potassium, calcium, and beta carotene.

Cashews have a low glycemic index (22), so they affect blood sugar gently and will not trigger a rapid insulin response.

Raw Cacao is one of nature's most amazing superfoods. It has the highest concentration of antioxidants of any food in the world and an impressive mineral content. It has extraordinarily high levels of magnesium, iron, chromium, manganese, phosphorus, copper, and zinc - as well as a wide array of unique and varied nutrients. Eat cacao in moderation because it does have a stimulating effect.
