Are you looking to change parts of yourself for the better? For example, will you be participating in Gaiam TV's Conscious Cleanse: 14-Day Clean Eating and Yoga Challenge? In order to understand your relationships with habits (like nutrition and exercise), you must first know what type of habit tendency you lean toward. Author Gretchen Rubin developed a framework for habits called The Four Tendencies. Take her quiz to learn how you respond to habits.
The Four Tendencies explain how you deal with inner and outer expectations. Which one are you?
Upholders readily respond to inner and outer expectations. Their response is, "I do what others expect of me—and what I expect of myself."
Questioners challenge all expectations and will do something if it makes sense to them. Their response is, "I do what I think is best according to my judgment."
Obligers meet outer expectations, but struggle with inner expectations. Their response is, "I don’t like to let others down, but I often let myself down."
Rebels resist all expectations. Their response? "I want to do what I want, in my own way. If you tell me to do something, I’m less likely to do it."
Fun fact: Obligers and Rebels are usually married or partnered to each other.
Now that you know what your habit tendency is, learn how to break bad habits for good.
