Breakfast Porridge

Take your regular oatmeal to a whole new level of deliciousness and nutrition. Serve with your favorite nut milk and sweetener, and pack with healthy fruit like bananas!

Serves: 4


(use organic where possible)

  • 1 litre water
  • Fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 2-inch cinnamon stick
  • ¼ cup sultanas
  • 2 cups oats (steel cut)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 bananas, sliced


  1. Combine the first 5 ingredients in a pot.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Mix in the oats and salt.
  4. Stir constantly for 4-6 minutes.
  5. Add the bananas and cook for 2 more minutes.
  6. Serve with your favorite nut milk and sweetener.
